~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan sighed. Science class was usually very interesting to him, mostly because of his teacher’s ways of teaching. Mr. Ingersoll understood him better than his other teachers. But to his dismay, as he walked into the classroom, he found a substitute teacher in his favorite teachers place.
As the rest of the class took their seats, Ivan watched as a certain Chinese boy/man made his way into the class. He watched from behind his scarf, watching his agile movements, as he swerved his hip around to sit in his desk, pulling out his hello kitty decorated binder. ‘Yao’ he sighed softly, whipping his head away as Yao turned to see who had called him. He cursed himself mentally for being so loud.
  As the substitute introduced himself as Mr. Jackson, Ivan ruffled through his bag before pulling out his notebook. Unlike his other notebooks, this one was special. With its worn pages, ruff edges and faded dull yellow, it held all of his precious drawings, and even a few personal snippets of writing.
Finding a semi-empty page, he began doodling, carefully drawing soft feathery strokes. Not too long after that, the feathery strokes began to take form, shaping into a heart. With a few neat strokes, he had finished the heart of with two words in the middle.
‘Ivan+Yao’
  He smiled quietly, a hint of sadness in his eyes. He sketched winding vines, twisting and turning, weaving their way around the heart, small sunflowers blooming here and there. Finishing the last of the details as he was snapped back into reality, his annoying neighbor poking him with a pencil. He huffed.
“What are you wanting now, Alfred?” he said, a twinge of annoyance showing in his voice.
“What’cha drawing Ivan?” he chuckled, trying to peek into his notebook.
“That is none of your business. Do you not have something better to be doing?” he twitched, snapping his notebook shut before the annoying American’s prying eyes could see anything.  A faint blush dusted his features as Alfred rolled his eyes and looked back to the teacher.
Ivan nearly fell asleep as their teacher droned on. The bell rang, jerking him awake. His drooping eyes snapped open as he grabbed his bag, and darted out the door. But a certain loud-mouth noticed that he had left something behind.
       “What have we here..?” Alfred said deviously, picking up the notebook, flipping through a few pages before stopping on an especially detailed one.
“This is going to be good” he smirked, tucking the notebook away in his bag. He had to find Prussia. Now.
~~Le time skip brought to you by zhe awesome Gilbird~~
   Ivan was a nervous wreck. He couldn’t find his notebook anywhere. He checked every single classroom he had been in, scouring every nook and cranny in his spare time between classes. He hoped and prayed nobody would find his most recent drawing. He couldn’t believe he had been so careless. If anybody found out about this, Alfred and Gilbert would be the first to know about it. And once they knew, it would be impossible to stop it from spreading all around the school.
*China’s P.O.*
   “Hey Yao~!”  Yao looked up, as the annoying duo leaned on either side of his desk.
“Ni hao Alfred, Gilbert” he sighed.”What do you need?”
“Kesese ve don’t NEED anyzhing” Gilbert chuckled. “Ve just vanted to talk to jou about jour boyfriend~”
Yao’s mind flooded with confusion. “Boyfriend? I don’t have a boyfriend” he said pointedly, still greatly confused.
“Oh we beg to differ” Alfred laughed. Pulling out the Russian’s notebook, he flipped expertly to the page containing the intricate drawing with the heart, slamming it on his desk in front of him.
“Well?” he smirked, looking at Yao’s gaping expression. Like a melancholy angel, the bell rang,signaling the start of class and saving him from any more embarrassment. His face was a deep shade of red, one that rivaled Antonio’s tomatoes. The rest of class was a blur as he tried desperately sorting out all the thoughts in his head, trying to make sense of this. For some reason the first thing that came to mind was to return Ivan’s notebook.  So he was going to exactly that. With a faltering stride, he made his way to his next class, which he had fatefully shared with Ivan.
